Big family sessions are some of my absolute favorite. They are full of so much fun and so much laughter!
This Calypso Bay family portrait session in Copperopolis did just that. Everyone was laughing, everyone was having a good time, and we got some amazing portraits to have for a lifetime.

We started off with the big group family portraits. Making sure we got a few different poses of the bigger group. We then broke everything down into girls only, boys only, grandparents and grand kids, just grandkids, etc.
The flow of the session went very smooth (it helps when you have an amazing organizer and a great list to go off of (: ) .

After we got the big group we broke everything down into the smaller families. We basically did mini family portraits for each family. We took about 5 minutes each to capture some portraits for each family.

You also can’t have a family portrait session without updating your own couples photos. I wanted to make sure to get a picture of each couple. After all, I always want more pictures of me and my hubby that isn’t just a selfie :)
Overall this family session was just so much fun. The weather was just right, the sunlight was beautiful, the family was happy and had so much fun. It was great!
It reminded me a lot of my family. We had 22 people in total during this family session. My family alone is 25 people. It was like home :)

Sonora has always had such a special place in my heart. I was born and raised here, moved away for a few years and just realized there isn’t a place better than Sonora. The landscape is amazing. The people are kind and caring. There is just a sense of peace you feel when you are in the Mother Lode of California.
